Dreaming of Babylon

It has been about fifteen years since a large number of books on the topic of Babylon were published, and the church, lacking the necessary discernment, ate them up like a starving man would a steak dinner.
Men with the spiritual insight, and foresight of a house cat went on and on about how the now recently departed Saddam Hussein was rebuilding Babylon, brick by agonizing brick, how soon it would be a central hub for global commerce, and how we still had plenty of time because well, Babylon wasn't done rebuilding yet.
I would travel with my grandfather, since I was his translator, and I could see the people shutting down every time Babylon was mentioned. They enjoyed his testimony, of how God saved him from the electric chair, they even applauded when he spoke of angels, but mention Babylon, and you could feel the spiritual yawn, and read the thoughts scrawling through their minds: "Poor Romanian, he missed the boat on that one, Babylon is being rebuilt by Saddam, and he's decades away from completing it. Surely we can put off repentance a little while longer."
I bit my tongue until it bled trying to stay loving, and understanding while reading the letters coming in saying, "see, there is a perfectly good explanation for the Babylon of Revelation chapter 18, they're rebuilding it as we speak, see, it's not America."
One would think the dreams of Babylon would have died at the end of the hangman's noose, but on the contrary, they have been revived. We've been in Iraq for over four years now, and not one picture of the newly rebuilt, remodeled, and refurbished Babylon. That's not stopping the men full of zeal but absent of discernment from rehashing what was already proven to be false, and saying "there's still time, they still have to rebuild it, they still have to rebuild Babylon."
What will it take for Christendom to face the reality of the prophetic? What will it take for this nation to realize that the Babylon of which Revelation speaks is not Iraq? Perhaps it will take a woman being ensconced in the seat of power, sitting as a queen to cause some to draw certain parallels between Babylon and America, but even then, there will be those who will say, "surely it can't be, they're rebuilding the old Babylon, and they'll flood the desert too, so that it matches the description of the Babylon which the book of Jeremiah speaks of, wherein it is surrounded by many waters."
We need to wake up before it's too late. We need to wake up and stop dreaming of Babylon, open our eyes and see that we're living in it.
So many refuse to acknowledge that America is mentioned in the Bible, because the nation the Bible describes is not a righteous nation, filled with noble souls, but a nation that has become a habitation of demons, a nation who's sins have reached to heaven, a nation whose iniquities God remembers.
As much as we love this nation, we cannot allow patriotism to blind us to reality. We must acknowledge the fact that a once great nation has fallen into disrepair, sin, and depravity, that the righteous weep, the evil revel, and truth is summarily executed every day for the sake of political correctness.
It is easy for some to live in the nostalgia of what we once were, but if we hope to redeem the time, we must awaken to the reality of what we have become. Dark days are coming upon this land, days of death and mourning and famine, because we have rejected truth, we have dismissed and undervalued salvation, righteousness, and Christ himself.
The Babylon that was, is no more, nor will it ever again arise from the ashes to become a power, or a global marketplace wherein every merchant of the earth can sell his goods. A new Babylon has arisen, one in whom God saw great promise and potential when it first began, a young nation by any standard who has risen to the status of sole superpower, but somewhere along the way it made the fatal mistake of abandoning the God who made her great, of trusting in her own strength, and of embracing death rather than life.
The cracks are starting to show, they are becoming evident like the wrinkles of a middle aged woman who can't cover them up, no matter how much foundation and makeup she applies. You can't hold a nation together with Elmer's glue and rubber bands. Eventually, it comes undone, eventually the rubber bands snap, and the churning waters that have been building will leave a dark swath of chaos and destruction once the dam breaks. At the end of the day, one thing is certain, we have brought this upon ourselves.
There is a refuge and a place of safety in the midst of all that is to come, and that is Jesus. Yes, I know, that was an obvious and simple statement, but truth is usually obvious and simple isn't it?

With love in Christ,

Michael Boldea Jr.

Amen Michael

Psa 137:1 By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion.
Psa 137:2 We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof.
Psa 137:3 For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.
Psa 137:4 How shall we sing the LORD's song in a strange land?
Psa 137:5 If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning.
Psa 137:6 If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.
Psa 137:7 Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Raze it, raze it, even to the foundation thereof.
Psa 137:8 O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us.
Psa 137:9 Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.

Amen. I find your daily commentaries to be blunt and forthright. Keep writing, I'm sure that there are more out there like me who may never comment, but rejoice that someone is speaking the truth.

hey michael, so how did/do you carry this burden? (the knowledge of our demise and the destruction of which most cling too) i am still at loss as how to handle this knowledge. even before i read your grandfathers revelations, i knew these things to be true. for many years they have hung around my neck like a heavy weight, and those that i have influenced these past years pretty much don't want to hear such dark words. and then to seek the Lord as to how to prepare for these times and not get answers only added to my burden. the spiritual side, i am pretty much ok with-its not knowing how and what to do with the physical preparations that has periodically sidelined me. it just seems to be a waiting game and i know we are to be doing more then just occupying till these awful things come to pass. the prayer times are more frequent now and intense, but i wonder can we steer the nation back to life such as the reese howells and john hydes of yesteryear influenced the nations?

OK< on a bit of a lighter note, to all us woman over 40 I have been using Drlark.com vitamins, and energizer, along with the squalene for 2yrs now and I must say it has helped tremendously reduce the wrinkles, check out her site she has great all natural products and they really work, I am living proof. :)

Friends we must remember to rest in the arms of the Lord, Grandfather said that he will protect all those that are walking with him, so we must persevere, walk in the Joy of the Lord, we are all one body with many parts, and we are all used someway by the Lord, this is Michaels calling, he is only a toe, we all have our part, and we must use this time to find out how God wants to use each and everyone of us, if he hasn't already shown you, there are to many souls to be saved, the time is short, take what you have learned from Micheal and Pray and draw closer daily to the Father, but dear brothers don't forget the Joy of the Lord is our strength, don't try and do what your not called to do because it just will not work no matter how hard you try, My calling I believe is to intercede, pray for the sick, the brokenhearted, to bring encouragement to the lost, this is when the anointing falls upon me, that is a way to sometimes know, every time I pray for people the anointing falls, I'm just getting this friends, revelation is coming fast, God needs each and everyone of us I pray the Lord begin to reveal is purpose quickly. Blessings

Yes Brother, We are in Babylon. We can get out of Babylon without leaving the U.S. Jesus said "Be no part of the world", he also said, "When you see all these things come to pass stand in the Holy place". Do you know that many of my brothers think we are to get to a Church, or some other religious site? To stand in the Holy place is to stand in the presence of the living God. Through our precious Lord Jesus we can bring ourselves before God our Father at any time, anywhere. Jesus paid the price of this great gift with blood and much suffering. How I love my Lord for having paid my price. Yes we are in Babylon the Great, but we can stand in the Holy place even as the bombs fall, and a nation lost begins to die. I thank you brother for a place to speak this simple truth. Thank you Great God and Father of all life for sending your beautiful son, our connection to you. Dear Lord Jesus "yea though I walk through the vally of the shadow death I will fear no evil for though art with me.

Michael,

Thank you for the encouraging words. It's been a long road for me, but by the grace of God, I like so many have found the Lord Jesus.

I agree that dark times are coming, it is all around us day after day.

I pray that our nation like Niniva would repent, I just do not see that happening. All the same I lift that prayer up to the Lord.

Amen, - glen
