Drama Queens

Either we’re all going to die again, or we’re going to get a runny nose. Not everyone though, most people will never know they had the thing we’re all supposed to be afraid of. However, to be fair, not having symptoms is a symptom, and you might as well get your affairs in order because if you’re feeling good, you know it’s just a matter of time.

It used to be that when you got a runny nose, you’d stock up on Kleenex and chicken soup. People were practical, reasonable, and reacted to certain situations appropriately. If you got a hangnail, you didn’t bum rush the emergency room yelling for a medic asap. If you had a tickle in the back of your throat, you didn’t play sad orchestra music and went shopping for a coffin. All that changed when certain individuals realized that you could monetize fear and, as a bonus, control the masses with fear.

Do what I tell you, or you’re going to die! That’s the message coming out of the white house of late, the one place where the individual at the helm is expected to be calm, cool, and collected. Never you mind the fact that with every incarnation, the ‘deadliest virus known to man’ grows weaker. Your level of fear is supposed to increase to the point that you shun family and friends, have your pets put down, and live as a recluse collecting your fingernail clippings and wiping down your delivered groceries with Clorox, to the point that everything you eat tastes like a urinal cake. At least, I’m assuming that’s what it tastes like; I’ve never actually eaten a urinal cake.

If you believe the reason for the fearmongering is your safety, then there isn’t much I can do for you at this juncture. If you think that the control they are attempting to assert over you is for your own good, then you deserve everything that’s coming, including forcibly jabbing your newborn as they crown. Big pharma needs to get paid, and long-term studies are too time-consuming for them to be concerned with. Whether or not what they’re jabbing into you will have unintended consequences somewhere down the road is irrelevant to them as long as the check clears.

“Oh, my, that’s a cynical way of looking at our pharmaceutical system.”

Perhaps, but it doesn’t make it any less accurate. The history of big pharma and what they were willing to do in order to make money is there for everyone to see. They are literally willing to kill people for the bottom line without remorse or compunction.

But now I’m supposed to trust the same people that got an entire generation hooked on pain meds with whatever they want to inject into my child while not being held liable for any adverse effects? Remember Vioxx, Paxil, Wellbutrin, Zyprexa, Risperdal, Lyrica, Avandia, OxyContin, Essure, even talcum powder? Are you smoking crack? Maybe crack’s cheaper than most prescription meds, but that’s beside the point.

Whenever you try to have a conversation about adverse reactions or side effects, you’re labeled a fringe conspiracy theorist, even though the evidence is piling up that you’re less likely to have severe complications from the sickness than from the jab that’s supposed to protect you from it.

It doesn’t even do that effectively enough to make the risk of blood clots, Bell’s Palsy, and cardiomyopathy worth it. But hey; you do you. For now, we still live in a free country where people can choose what they do with their own bodies.

Rumblings

There isn’t much you can do once you start hearing the rumblings of a storm. Up until that point, you may have been able to pretend as though the storm wasn’t coming; you may have been able to hope that it would go around you. You may have even been able to hope that you would be caught up before the first thunderclap. At a certain point, however, reality starts to set in.

Even then, some people still choose to cling to fables, pacify themselves with mantras, or alleviate their concerns with things they read in fiction books. Justifying inaction is a full-time job for some, and the longer they embrace something, the more they tend to double down. Talking oneself into believing that everything will be okay is very seductive, and many people cling to that hope to the point of delusion.

If your house is on fire, you have no fire extinguisher, and your points of egress are blocked, sitting at your kitchen table telling yourself it’s going to be okay and doing nothing to try and escape the flames is delusional.

If you are at all aware of your surroundings, weaknesses, strengths, and blind spots, you will have already done everything you need to do to mitigate the effects of the storm that is upon us. If a sea fearer sees the storm clouds approaching, even though he is unaware of how severe the storm will be, he goes about battening down the hatches and ensuring that he has done his best to weather the oncoming onslaught.

As believers, we have been warned repeatedly throughout the Word as to what the last days would look like. For those continuing to insist that we won’t be here for any of those days, my math on the subject is simple: Either God wasted his breath in warning of the last days seeing how we wouldn’t be here, or, in love, warned His children as to what they could expect during these last days. Whichever thesis is correct, we will know soon enough.

The worst thing we can do as believers is to become impulsively reactionary to things around us. It’s the difference between one individual driving down the road knowing there’s a sharp curve ahead and being ready for it and another unaware of the curve and not paying that much attention to the road.

If all the warnings in the Bible were put there to meet word quota, then no harm, no foul. In the blink of an eye, we will nevermore be burdened with global machinations, wars, rumors of wars, famines, pestilences, and all the other things that can put a crimp in one’s day.

If, however, they weren’t put there just to take up space, but as viable warnings regarding the landscape of the last days and how we should be positioning ourselves, then we ignore the words of the Book at our peril.

Bondage

It is because they’ve never been deprived of it that some people don’t value their freedom. They’ve always had it. It’s been a constant. They didn’t have to fight for it, sacrifice for it, or defend it. They were born free in the land of the free. Rather than possess the awareness to understand just how much of a blessing that is, they long for the bondage others risked their lives to escape.

It doesn’t compute. It’s like trying to tell someone who’s never missed a meal how horrible a thing starving to death is. Sure, they’ve had the tummy rumbles once or twice, but there was always a Taco Bell nearby to scratch that itch. Nothing beats a quick meal that doubles as the world’s most potent laxative. If the name in-n-out wouldn’t have already been taken, perhaps it would have been an excellent rebranding idea.

Where was I? Oh, yeah, freedom. The problem with those telling you that your freedom isn’t that important, or that you won’t really miss it once it’s gone, is that they have no plans to live without theirs. Whether it’s because they suffer from a terminal case of self-importance, or they’re just that insulated, and well off, the people insisting you ought to diminish the importance of freedom are not including themselves in the conversation.

As has been the case since a smelly, lazy German bum came up with the blueprint for Marxism, their machinations, plans, and desires have everything to do with subjugating you and elevating themselves. These people already know how incompetent they are; you don’t have to tell them. Because they know that if all things were equal, they would fail and you would succeed at life time and again that they are attempting to hobble the driven, motivated, intelligent, and innovative.

Because someone like Bernie Sanders would seem like an escaped mental patient ranting about taxing the rich if he were standing on a street corner by himself, they had to become a magnet for the disenfranchised and the lazy. They had to appeal to those who take away from rather than contribute to society. Get those people on your side, and punish those who wake up every morning to go to work, and pretty soon, you’ll have a majority.

Even then, you can’t just come out and tell people you want to enslave them, make them wards of the state, and have some bureaucrat decide everything from where they live, to what they eat, to where they work. It would make too many people question whether they wanted to go down that dark road after all. And so, you camouflage your intent. You tell people it’s about equity and fairness, about inclusion and diversity, because these things sound good on the surface.

You embrace the dumbing down of society; you encourage apathy; you reward the unproductive until you have absolute power. Then, and only then do you show your hand, and the mouth breathers who followed you realize that not only have they been robbed of their freedom, but the utopia they were promised is anything but.

The ice upon which we are tap dancing is thin, and deep dark waters lie below.

Momma Bears

The backlash was inevitable. In fact, it was a certainty. The only mystery that remained was how big it was going to be, and if, when the dust settled and the numbers were tallied, it would make a difference one way or the other. It has often been said that the most dangerous animal you can come across is a momma bear protecting her cubs. Even if you don’t pose a threat or mean to harm her babies, your very presence is often enough to make a momma bear irate to the point of attack.

What has been happening throughout this nation, and more poignantly in Virginia of late, is anything but harmless or unintentional. I’ve been watching with a keen eye because we were at a crossroads of sorts. Either all sense of morality and decency were dead and buried, and the majority had become like Lot in Sodom offering up their children just to spare themselves, or a silent majority would send a message that was undeniable in its intent.

For those unaware, Virginia elected its latest Governor yesterday, and the outcome was as much of a shock to some as the 2016 presidential elections. Although I’ve not as yet seen video of advisors and henchmen mumbling to themselves in a daze, I assure you they exist.

This election was supposed to be a walk. Show up to a few venues, shake a few hands, reassure people that we’re on the right track, and that would be that. Everything was going according to plan until two things happened almost simultaneously. First, a boy in a skirt sodomized a girl in a High School bathroom, and the school board tried to cover it up. Second, one of the candidates insisted that parents had no business deciding what their children were being taught.

If you read into the messaging, hardworking, tax-paying parents were basically told to shut up and take it. Pay your taxes, let us indoctrinate your children, and thank us for doing it. So what if your daughter is just as likely to be raped as she is to learn algebra on any given day? The way of progress is never a straight line, and if we can shove an agenda down the throat of an entire generation, what’s a rape here and there?

Evidently, the momma bears of Virginia didn’t take too kindly to being told that their children were going to be sodomized, indoctrinated, and abused and that they had no say so in the matter. They came out in droves and made their voices heard not with violence or supergluing themselves to the sidewalk but by exercising their constitutional right of voting.

No, this isn’t a turning of the tide. We’ve not restored America. I am, however, guardedly optimistic that there are more and more people waking up to the plans and machinations of arrogant elitists who see most folks in this country as cows to be milked or sheep to be fleeced.

As I said to a friend in conversation the other day, this was never about reversing judgment; it’s always been about putting it off for as long as possible. Yes, I know, that doesn’t sit well with some who just want to watch the world burn, and they’re anxious because they just made a fresh batch of popcorn, but I’m not one of those individuals.

If judgment is delayed, it is a good thing. If the church gets its act together and uses the time wisely, calling men to repentance, it’s even better.

Cruel Messiahs

There have been many pretenders to the throne, but other than the One True Messiah, the Christ, they have all been cruel and debauched, heartless and indifferent, caring not a whit for those who so readily deified them.

You would be surprised at how many fools with a messiah complex have popped up throughout the ages. Though they vary in age, upbringing, nationality, and education, they all ended up leading their followers to the edge of the precipice and beyond.

Whether Jim Jones, David Koresh, or countless others throughout the world, one common trait among them all was this ineffable air of self-importance. These individuals thought so highly of themselves that they believed every word that came out of their mouth was sacrosanct and beyond question by mere mortals.

As of late, the world has gotten into the act of crowning messiahs with the same failure rate as those who came before them. The new messiah, it seems, is a nasally voiced, older gentleman in a lab coat. The new religion is based on virtue-signaling loyalty tests that make no rational sense but are still insisted upon with the utmost pathos.

It took a while for the cruelty of this new messiah to come bubbling to the surface like the gasses being released from a decaying carcass at the bottom of some nameless pond, but here we are, and there’s no putting this nightmare back in the box.

To be clear, I’m not what one might call a pet person. I prefer neither cats nor dogs, and if I had to take on a pet, the only metric I would use would likely be how much meat it would provide in the event I’d have to eat it. I’m practical that way. Some of you think you could never bring yourself to eat a pet, but you’ve never starved before, so don’t judge.

What am I babbling on about? Well, the latest revelation of what constitutes an experiment by the department this newly minted messiah oversees, that’s what. As I said, I’m not a pet person, but subjectively speaking, beagles are cute. Even I could be coerced into petting a beagle puppy given the right circumstances. That said, if you haven’t heard, the same nerds in lab coats with a god complex that brought you the pandemic via their gain of function research have also been letting beagle puppies get eaten alive by sand flies. Because puppies tend to bark while being eaten alive, they all had their vocal cords surgically removed before the experiment commenced. I’m sure you can find the story on your own, no need to bore you with the details.

There is a basic point I want to make this morning, one that no one has made as far as I know: I know I’m not as cute as a beagle puppy! If they’re willing to let beagle puppies get eaten alive just to see how long it takes, what do you think they’d be willing to do to someone they outright detest?

When you give people with no soul absolute power and treat them as though they could do no wrong and are above the law, you beget monsters whose sense of humanity has long since rotted to nothingness.

Until next time, contemplate this nugget: If they’re willing to watch beagle puppies get eaten alive in the name of science, what are they willing to do to you in its name?

One Hill Too Many

It is a painful thing to look in the mirror and acknowledge that a coward is staring back at you. There’s no way around the gut punch. There’s no deflecting it. You are staring into the face of something you swore you’d never become each time you told yourself that this was not a hill worth dying on. Another hill was on the horizon, and one day, oh, one day, there would be that one where you would grow a spine and take your stand come hell or high water.

After all, you were just being pragmatic, practical even. What good would it serve if you stuck your neck out and took incoming from all sides? It is better to let someone with no responsibilities bear the brunt of it, and when the battle is sure to go their way, join in on the celebration. Just this once, though; you promised yourself. You’d work up the courage to make a stand at some point; you’d know when your hill came along. Let others lead the way for a while, and when they grew tired, you’d be there to take up the reigns.

The only problem is that day never came, and we’re running out of hills. At some point, the enemy will have everything it wants, and some Christians will still be sitting on the sidelines, waiting for their opportunity to be brave, and talking themselves into believing that they haven’t done anything simply because the timing wasn’t right. The words ring hollow even to those who repeat them like a mantra, but by now, they have no choice. If they ever believed that they would one day be brave, they haven’t believed it for long and long.

As has been the case for long and long, my issue is not with the world but rather with the church. Seeing that those of the world are more willing to take a stand against tyranny than the church is, is the epitome of irony, but it also stirs up great sadness.

Because I’d rather tell you what’s around the corner than what’s in front of your eyes, you must prepare your heart for the eventuality that those who have been too cowardly to act, to speak, to stand will grow increasingly bitter toward those who did those things. There’s nothing more unsettling to the coward’s psyche than the constant, physical reminder of their cowardice. The only way to get around that is to demonize the brave and make them into the villain. It’s coming; just be ready for it.

I’m guessing by this point you’re kicking yourself for talking me into coming back and halfway regretting I didn’t stay gone. As the adage goes, be careful what you ask for; you just might get it. More could be said, but the kiddies are stirring, and daddy promised French toast.

Canceled!

What’s so attractive about cancel culture? This is the question I was asked by a friend recently, and as I am wont of doing, I began to ponder the question with requisite seriousness. After some thought, the best answer I could come up with is that it gives weak, spineless, unremarkable, unaccomplished, limp wristed, mediocre, inconsequential, irrelevant individuals a shred of power they otherwise would never have been able to acquire of their own volition or merit.

It’s not fairness driving the cancel train, nor is it equity. It’s envy, jealousy, and the blinding need to cut everyone down because you don’t have the wherewithal to build yourself up. These are not the new heroes of civilization blazing a trail of equitability; they are sniveling trolls on the periphery of society who see their one chance at casting a pall over the success of everyone else just because they are mired in failure.

Now I’m sure at this point, there will be a handful of pearl clutchers who will insist that we show these festering boils on the backside of civilization grace and empathy. Still, just as you don’t bring a viper close to your bosom, you don’t embrace individuals who so flippantly attempt to ensure that a mom or a dad can no longer feed their family because they found something they said mildly offensive.

My empathy is near to empty already, and I will not waste it on mean-spirited, evil gremlins who see someone’s inability to earn a living as a win. This sort of mindset, these sort of movements must be put down in utero before they can grow and mature and become something uncontrollable.

It won’t get better. It will only get worse, and even if you keep your head down and shuffle along with the rest of the sheep, at some point in the near future, you will do something to offend the hobgoblins, and they will come for your head as well. It won’t even have to be some great offense like telling the dude with the beard that he isn’t really a woman. It could be something minor and seemingly insignificant, like a perceived microaggression.

Some of you may think I’m kidding, but these sorts of things tend to get out of hand quickly. The worse it gets, the more violent the redress will have to be to get back to some semblance of normalcy wherein just because you like beef and I like pork, it doesn’t mean I should go on permanent jihad until your life is ruined.

How long before the dredges set their sights on the church? How long before what you believe, what you stand for, what you practice in your day-to-day becomes intolerably offensive to them? How long before a pack of unwashed, screechy, crazy-eyed feminist activists pitches tents in front of your church with signs reading Hate Lives Here?

Before you start thinking that this could never happen, check yourself and realize how many things you never thought you’d live to see you are witnessing on the daily.

The Undoing

Some time ago, I made the mistake of getting my kids the game Jenga. Granted, they were younger, unable to grasp the game’s intricacies at the time, but I hoped that if I showed them how to take one piece from the bottom and put it on the top, they would understand it and do likewise.

Unsurprisingly, they just liked the sound of all the woodblocks crashing to the floor, and each time I stacked them up, one of them would slap it down to the great delight of the other.

Everywhere you turn, it seems as though petulant children just want to make everything come crashing down, and they are too impatient to do it one block at a time anymore. Yes, we are already teetering on many fronts, but now it seems as though a great number of people with power and influence are deadest on kicking the whole thing over immediately, come what may.

Many things have brought us to this place, our hubris, arrogance, and yes, rebellion against the precepts and principles of God being chief among them. As John Adams so poignantly stated, “our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

As the puzzle pieces begin to fall into place, one thing that’s surprising to some is the length of time it took for the enemy to implement its plans. We’re not talking five-year plans here; this was generational. Before you could make a nation despise its existence and denounce its genesis, before you could brainwash the masses to the point of hating themselves and the skin they’re in, you first needed to remove the notion of God from the public square.

Before you could convince millions of women that killing their unborn babies was akin to a spa day, you had to undermine the collective morality of the entire nation to the point that sanctity of life became a subjective issue rather than an absolute one.

The devil meticulously took his time, and because the church was either distracted by baubles or too busy building fiefdoms to notice what was going on, they allowed it to happen unobstructed and unhindered.

For the past two decades, we’ve been talking about getting back to God, to morality, to decency, yet with all the talking, we just keep getting further away. The why is simple. We’ve become addicted to instant gratification, and most folks are unwilling to put in the time it would take to get this nation back on the right footing.

The devil was more patient than the church will ever be, and it’s largely the reason he now has the upper hand.

Yes, we can take some comfort in knowing how it all ends, but we still have to get from here to there, and I can’t help but wonder how many have the spiritual and mental fortitude to weather the journey.

Let’s face it; Facebook was down for a few hours last week, and people were ready to throw their firstborns into volcanoes to make it work again. Imagine that the problems they were facing became existential. What would they do then?

To Fascist or Not To Fascist

For a solid month after the latest presidential elections, no matter what topic I was covering on my radio program or what rabbit trail we were hopscotching down, I’d always circle back to one idea. It was like a gong going off in my head. More often than not, I felt like a broken record repeating it, but since what I do nowadays as far as these musings and the radio show are concerned have more to do with posterity than anything else, the words needed to be said if for no other reason than to document that someone did say them.

You have no idea what you people have done! This was the sentence I repeated over and over again, and each time, a special kind of sadness washed over me.

If people had no idea what they’d done six months ago, they’re getting a pretty good idea now. We’re nowhere close to reaching the end of the ride on this crazy train, but we’re far enough along wherein people are beginning to wake up to the reality of where we’re headed.

Why do you think the most vocal and outspoken individuals before the elections were those who escaped from communist countries, whether the eastern block of Europe, Cuba, North Korea, or China? Why do you think it was people who lived the dystopia of Socialism, Communism, and fascism that warned most fervently and passionately?

It wasn’t because they had nothing better to do or just got bored all of a sudden. It wasn’t because they decided to throw a wrench in the works of idealistic socialists who just wanted equality. It was because they lived the inevitable end of every fascistic experiment and felt compelled to speak out, not that anyone bothered to listen.

For those still wearing the red, white and blue glasses and chanting that could never happen here, this week, we got one step closer, and most people didn’t even bat an eye. As per the dictates of the new director of the Department of Justice, parents opposed to their children being indoctrinated into Marxism or CRT in school should now be treated as domestic terrorists and investigated by the FBI.

When dissent is forbidden, when parents no longer have a say as to what their children are being taught, when actual crime is soaring throughout the country by every metric, yet you’re focusing on parents who object to the state’s propaganda, fascism is no longer a possibility, it is a present reality.

Land of the free and home of the brave are hollow words indeed when one is faced with the prospect of being arrested and having their life turned upside down for the high crime of having a dissenting opinion. This is how lesser men retain power once they gain it: they weaponized every government agency against those who would object to their tyranny. In every nation and every generation, there have been those who would enforce their dictates.

These last couple of years have dispelled many myths, one of them being that law enforcement and the military are far too noble to obey unconstitutional dictates. Sorry kids, you’re on your own, and no one’s coming to save you. When speaking your mind becomes a crime, sooner or later, there will be a knock on your door even if you bite your tongue because at some point, they’ll just accuse you of thinking about saying something, and that will be enough.

Fickle Beasts

I’m stingy with compliments. It’s not anything new or something that came on with age. I’ve always been this way because I respect the integrity of words and that they mean things. Modern culture tends to water down and dilute everything, including the meaning of words, wherein an over the hill has been bag of wrinkles is called a heroine for shouting her abortion, or as modern parlance would phrase it, murdering her unborn child, or committing infanticide.

That said, any nurse, doctor, candy striper, or other medical staff who continued to go to work day in and day out as the pandemic broke out is a bonafide hero in my book. Why? Because when this all started last year, nobody knew anything about this virus, whether mortality rate, transmission rate, or what it could do to the average human.

Countless unknown factors served to make people trepidatious. Yet, medical professionals still clocked in every day did their jobs, and came home, all the while uncertain as to what they may have contracted when the toothless homeless fellow hocked a loogie in their eye.

As Americans are fond of doing, at a certain point, we jumped the shark. As a society, we went overboard with giant banners waving in front of hospitals declaring that heroes worked there, kids wearing my mom’s a hero shirts, husbands wearing my wife’s a hero hats, but it’s the American way. We are a bombastic people, and we like signage. That’s why Marshall’s Home Goods is still in business. Take a dollar’s worth of wood and paint, scribble Bless This Home calligraphically, and you’ve got yourself a $40 piece of art that some cat mom somewhere will be proud to own.

A year and change have passed, we know more about this malady, and chances are most nurses and doctors have had it and recovered from it. Still, because they refuse to fall in line and obey for whatever reason, they are now pariahs, worthy of being left destitute and homeless.

It just goes to show how fickle a beast the human being is because I would wager that some of those calling for the termination of these people were likely cared for by them over the past couple of years.

Although grotesque on its face, there are deeper truths we must uncover as this saga plays out. First is the speed at which society can make a heel turn as far as its heroes are concerned. An entire sector went from hero to zero in no time flat, even though the reasoning is shaky at best.

The second thing we must be aware of is that this is the perfect vehicle by which the non-compliant, the stiff-necked, and the independent-minded are weeded out of positions of power, authority, or import. The new order is looking for team players, not lone rangers, so shut up, do as you’re told, toe the line, and be quick about it, or you will be next.

It’s sad how quickly we can vilify our fellow man and how readily we can be manipulated to be at each other’s throats for something that makes absolutely no sense at all. If you got jabbed and it works, then it makes no never mind what I do. If you got jabbed and it doesn’t work, it makes no never mind what I do. It’s like rolling down your window and yelling at the driver in the next car over to put on his seatbelt because he’s going to kill you. It makes no sense, yet here we are.

Enough To Go Around

The instant Christianity morphed into the business of religion, its reason for being was deformed, butchered, and mutilated into some grotesque apparition of what it was intended to be. Once it became a business, Christianity was no longer governed by the higher calling of saving souls but by the laws of supply and demand.

We had a product that most consumers tended to avoid, so we retooled it to make it more palatable. We did away with the requirements such as repentance, holiness, and righteousness and increased the benefits and bonuses. Finally, a new religion where you can have your cake and eat it too. And, for a limited time, if you sign up today, it not only applies to the great beyond but to this present life as well.

Remember not so long ago when the entire world collectively decided that the three things it couldn’t do without were hand sanitizer, face diapers, and toilet tissue? The demand went through the roof, supply dwindled, and people were selling hand sanitizer on Facebook for the price of a used Hyundai.

Soon everyone got into the act because they saw the demand outpacing the supply. Companies that once made adult beverages now made hand sanitizer by the gallon, and every granny in North America suddenly became a seamstress making face diapers from their old, unused bloomers. As far as toilet tissue is concerned, well, it’s pricy starting up an entire tissue enterprise, but people were offering their services hoping to teach others what they can use around the house in lieu of Charmin’s extra soft. The one I liked most was pulling the two-ply toilet tissue you had apart and making it into one ply. That would make it last twice as long.

The point I’m trying to make this morning is that there’s enough blame to go around as to why modern-day Christianity is in the decrepit state it’s in. The supply would never have materialized if there had been no demand for watered down, lukewarm, libertine doctrine.

If every Christian demanded Biblical exegesis and Scriptural doctrine, you wouldn’t have gotten the rash of Joel Osteen wannabees, the Creflo Dollar pimpologists, and all the other jet-setting mansion dwellers who have at this point foregone fleecing the flock and are just skinning them alive.

It’s not as though we weren’t forewarned; we just chose not to heed the warnings. Paul was very explicit in his second letter to Timothy, warning that men would not endure sound doctrine and heap up teachers according to their desires. However, we turned it into a business model rather than take it as the warning it was intended to be.

Give the people what they want, and they’ll love you as you’re shepherding them toward hell. Give the people what they need, and you will be called every name under the sun, not by the godless or the heathen, but by the very people you were tasked with shepherding.

The situation may look hopeless, but there is one glimmer of hope. The other day I went to my local supermarket and noticed that they were giving away bottles of the selfsame hand sanitizer they had been charging $5 a few weeks earlier. Why? Because the demand had dried up, nobody was buying it anymore, and they were stuck with excess inventory they needed to be rid of.

The same principle can be applied to all the purveyors of humanistic, self-centered, flesh-obsessed doctrine that omits Christ, the cross, and the Bible altogether. The supply is exceeding the demand, and what’s worse, more and more people are waking up to the reality that though they may sound good and empower the flesh, the newfangled doctrines don’t work.

A sea change is on the horizon, and men will begin to search for truth anew. The one unanswered question is, when they begin to search for truth, will there be anyone left to offer it to them? Or, as Jesus put it when the Son of Man returns, will He find faith on the earth?

American Prophetic

It’s easy to see why the modern-day prophetic movement, and I use that term in the loosest way possible, is so ripe for mockery and skepticism. When your brand ambassadors are a pink-haired lady who wants Tammy Faye looks but doesn’t have Tammy Faye money and a guy who looks like an extra from an ill-conceived biker/vampire movie, awkward glances, and arched eyebrows are a given.

Not being one to judge a book by its cover unless the cover is of Fabio bare-chested on a pirate ship, I could overlook the cringe factor when it comes to wardrobe choice and hair color if any of the things these modern-day seers into the great beyond have said had actually come to pass.

We throw titles around loosely nowadays, marrying words that ought not to have ever been in the same sentence, like honest politicians. It diminishes both the title and the integrity of the English language.

One word that is exceedingly overused in Christian circles is prophet. Nowadays, you run the risk of tripping over a prophet or two just stepping outside your front door. I know what you’re thinking ‘how will we know they’re a prophet?’, well, they’ll be sure to tell you, over and over again, and some will even insist you call them by the title.

I’m guessing some of these individuals looked around and came to the conclusion that if a man can demand you call them a woman because they think they are, the same demands can be made regarding being called a prophet. Just because you think you are something or want to be something does not make it so. I can think I’m skinny until I try to stuff my pudgy carcass into a pair of skinny jeans. The same goes for wishing it were so or wanting it really bad.

So, as a public service, let me go through a few things you should be wary of regarding individuals who call themselves prophets or insist on being named a prophet. Why now? Because this is an issue that will only grow in relevance as evil men and imposters will wax worse and worse.

If the individual does not point the way to Christ and insists upon repentance, no matter who they are, you may have just crossed paths with a deceiver or an impostor.

If the individual, no matter who they are, cannot definitively say ‘thus says the Lord’ but goes into feelings, impressions, senses, and other such pabulum, you may have just crossed paths with a deceiver or an impostor.

If the individual, no matter who they are, attempts to exert authority over you using their so-called prophetic calling or tries in some way to profit from you, you may have just crossed paths with a deceiver or an impostor.

If the individual, no matter who they are, sets a date upon which a particular thing will happen, and it is not so, you may have just crossed paths with a deceiver or an impostor.

I understand how powerful a draw confirmation bias is. I also know how it can be used to manipulate the sheep of God’s pasture toward nefarious ends. Biblically speaking, prophecy is not supposed to be a vehicle to boost your self-esteem or a cheering section as to how great you are doing. I’ve heard one too many ‘you are the apple of my eye’ prophecies in my day, as well as ‘I know you’ve fallen short, but that’s okay’ revelations. True prophecy will never contradict the Word of God or give license to practices the Bible clearly condemns. True prophecy warns of future events, calls to repentance, and chastens in love. More could be said, but I’m getting wordy, and my kids are about to wake up.

The Surrender Protocol

I’m not a big fan of canned or prepackaged. That’s not to say I don’t eat absolute junk more often than not, but other than Spam, which, let’s face it, the only way to make comestible was to can it, I’d rather skip the metallic taste in the back of my throat if I can help it.

The same goes for sermons or talks I give. That’s not to say I don’t spend time in prayer, meditation, reading the word, and preparing, but as far as putting together presentations with slides and pictures, diagrams, and charts, that’s just not me. To be clear, I don’t look down on well-prepared talks, nor do I diminish the work put into them; it’s just not the way I work.

My thinking has always been that even if you take the time and painstakingly prepare a six-course meal of various delicacies, from boar, to elk, to duck, oh my, it does nothing for you if the person coming over for dinner declares that they are strict vegan the moment they walk through your door.

I may have a great talk, all polished and ready, that will do nothing for you because it’s not what you needed to hear. Sure, you can cram a bit more head knowledge in there, ooh and aah at some factoid or another, but as far as the message impacting you like a rogue asteroid, that’s unlikely to happen.

Last week I was asked to speak at a conference in California, and because I’ve known the people putting it on for the longest time, I agreed. As I was sitting in the back of the amphitheater getting the lay of the land and taking in the atmosphere, I had an epiphany of sorts. The godless are so giddy and relentless in their lunacy because they expected more of a fight from the church than the church actually put up.

We surrendered as soon as war was declared, not one shot fired, not one casualty had on either side, just plain white-bellied surrender. What’s worse is that we surrendered what wasn’t ours to surrender in the first place. We surrendered those God-given intangibles like life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness which were gifted to us with the presupposition that we would hold to them, value them, and defend them.

We did none of those things. Maybe we thought they weren’t worth defending, or perhaps we were just too cowardly to stand up and say no, but either way, the ghouls and gargoyles who dream of your enslavement every waking moment feel as though they have carte blanche to do whatever they want for as long as they wish.

If there is still an America, our children’s children will look back on this time and hang their heads in shame. They will see us not as heroes who made the best of a bad situation but as cowards who gave up everything for the illusion that a piece of cloth over our faces and a jab in the arm would somehow make us immortal.

All men die! It is the way of things. The how and when of it is not up to us, no matter how in control we think ourselves to be.

Basic

It’s not complicated, it really isn’t, but we won’t allow ourselves to accept the reality of it because that would mean this entire upheaval we’ve been going through has to do with nothing more profound than power.

It’s not about saving lives, or keeping you safe, or anything lofty and idealistic. It’s basic, really, it’s about keeping the power they’ve managed to finagle through fear, and increasing it exponentially. Once you get your first hit of power it’s like crack and cocaine put in a blender, and mainlined directly into your bloodstream. You’re always going to want more and you’ll do anything to get it.

I’m assuming that’s what crack and cocaine in a blender would feel like because I’ve never done either, but you can see the mad gleam in the eye of anyone who comes into possession of undeserved authority, control, and power over their fellow man. Once they taste power on their tongue everything becomes about omelets and eggs and having to break one to make the other. By the way, if you haven’t caught on yet, you’re the egg!

Why is it important to know the underlying motivation of our dear leaders? There’s more than one reason to be sure, but the most important is to dispel the myth that what they’re doing, they’re doing for your own good rather than their advancement.

Yes, there is the far more nefarious subset whose goal is a one world government and a reset of all things, but for the most part, this particular class of politicians have but one thing on their mind.

You need to know what you’re dealing with in order to act accordingly. There’s this meme that’s been going around the internet forever about a mountain lion in a bathtub, with the words ‘nice kitty’ as the subtitle. There’s nothing nice about the power mad, or their inner circles which profit off their positions. They create an interdependent eco-system of grift and filthy lucre, and God help any man that dares to interfere with it.

Evidently all you really need to sell your paint splatters and finger doodles for north of half a million bucks is have a relative with political clout, while real artists cut off appendages hoping to get some traction to be able to afford ramen noodles. That’s just one of the more egregious examples, but this sort of thing happens all the time, in both political parties, and those that reject the notion of profiteering off the average Joe, are summarily ostracized, marginalized, and silenced.

No longer does the political class pledge their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor, because they have no honor left to pledge, and as far as fortunes are concerned, that’s why they got into this game in the first place, to make fortunes.

The blind are leading the blind, but as long as there is bread and circus they will continue to trudge along, ever closer to the edge of the precipice. By now those willing to see it are seeing the reality of what we have created, and also what is on the horizon. Even those willfully blind will see, but by the time they see it will be too late to do anything about it.

Undesirables

Unless it’s one of those Indie flicks no one likes, but everyone pretends to understand and love because they think it makes them seem sophisticated, most movies, at least the good ones, the film regular folks like, are made up of a three-act structure.

Whether you call it the inciting incident, midpoint, and climax, or the setup, the confrontation, and the resolution, there are still three components that make the whole of a movie.

I’ve been noticing of late that even though we are barely into the first act of this global drama, some believers are insistent that this is the climax, and we must act accordingly.

“This is it, baby, fourth quarter, no downs, seventh-inning bases loaded,” I don’t know; I mix metaphors, and I’m not into sports, but let’s just say that there are many insisting that the jab and poke are what the book of Revelation was referring to as far as a particular mark was concerned.

If it sets anyone’s mind at ease, it’s not. Not saying the ouchie isn’t nefarious, not saying that it is, just saying that it’s not the Mark of the Beast. That said, looking at the entire situation dispassionately, it sure is a nice way of paving the way for it and removing those not readily given to blind obedience from positions of power and authority. Isn’t it?

Because it makes Beth Moore fans feel empowered, for the longest time, we’ve been teaching the church that the devil is nothing more than a naïve with a dunce cap and a drool cup sitting in the corner trying to trip people as they walk by. We ignore the Biblical description of him as a roaring lion because that would make it more challenging to sing, ‘we’ve got the enemy under our feet, wouldn’t it?

What’s the point? Am I trying to make you scared of the devil? No, I’m trying to make you understand that the devil is smart enough to engineer a test run before the actual unveiling of the mark of the beast.

You don’t just come charging out into the open, unveiling your diabolical plans. First, you probe the outer perimeter, identify the weaknesses, see how compliant the majority are, how far you can push them with fear until they realize the object of their fear is an illusion. Then, and most importantly, you identify those who aren’t so easily culled and remember them for later.

I promise you, if you have been deemed undesirable if you somehow made it known that you’re not up for going along with a global suicide pact, then your name is on a list somewhere.

If this was a test, we failed. By ‘we,’ I mean the royal ‘we,’ and include everyone from the church on down. While I can’t throw too much shade at the world because for the past two decades, they’ve been conditioned and programmed to be soft, spineless, their men to be dainty and effeminate, I can and do find fault with the church.

How easily we succumbed to fear and pressure and fell in line, some even doing the bidding of that oddly reptilian fellow with the gravelly voice and New York accent.

Gone are the days of being bitten by a viper and nonchalantly shaking it off into the fire as though nothing untoward occurred. Gone are the church services where pastors read the scriptures that in no uncertain terms insist that if you drink poison, it will not harm you.

We don’t have the faith for that kind of stuff anymore, but we sure do have enough faith for prosperity. Ah, the wonders of the modern-day Christian Church.

More to be said on this topic. Maybe I’ll make it a series.

Requiem

If the only thing remembering what was serves to do is make us disgusted with what is and troubled by what is to come, we will fall into the same snares time and again until we are spent and are no more.

Heeding one’s own advice is necessary, especially if not becoming a hypocrite is paramount in every action you undertake. I’ve never been a big fan of hypocrisy. I tend to think it tastes like a mouthful of pennies, even though I’ve never actively caught myself willingly being a hypocrite.

I’ve seen enough of it in Christian circles throughout the years to make me wary of it, and know without equivocation, it is not something I wanted to court, invite, or embrace.

I have not posted anything for some time, not because I’ve had nothing to say or because I haven’t written anything, but everything I’ve written seems to have been birthed from anger, and I don’t want that.

Yes, there are countless things to be angry about, and the list is growing longer every day, but having taken my own advice, I pulled back for a while because angry rants just for the sake of releasing some pressure is counterproductive. Typing out ‘I told you so’ a hundred times and posting it is likewise counterproductive, so I’ve been taking my advice and living as though I am terminal. I’ve been enjoying my daughters, my wife, the weather, and long walks that start before dawn.

The nation has chosen its path, its trajectory is clear, and all that’s left is to prepare individually, steel ourselves spiritually, and root ourselves in the Word and promises of God.

I’ve butted heads with the rising phoenix wing of the Christian church one too many times, and our verbal jousts leave me hollow. It’s like throat punching a toddler; there is no glory in it. Wishing it, hoping for it, manifesting it - which isn’t a Biblical thing but more a New Age flavor of pseudo-spirituality – will do nothing to change the reality that an unrepentant nation is deserving of the judgment soon to befall it.

I would have stayed gone save for an e-mail forwarded to me by my staff, and it struck a chord. Yes, Krista, your e-mail. So, moving forward, I need those of you that read my ruminations to understand that if I post something, it will be the truth as it always has been. It is not intended to stir fear in your heart; it is not intended to make you panic or flee to the hills. However, I will not sugarcoat the truth or water it down for fear of making you uneasy.

There is no point in me lying to you today to put you temporarily at ease, only for you to realize I’ve lied to your face come tomorrow. I would rather tell you the truth, have you bristle at it, but see the veracity of it down the line.

As I said, I don’t want to write angry, but I’m sure anger will seep through from time to time. Yes, I know, most spiritual authorities currently in the limelight are saintly to the point that they need not contend with anger, but I am not one of them. Nor am I a spiritual authority for that matter.

We are in a pickle, kids, and it’s not going to get any better, rising phoenix notwithstanding. Anyone who tells you we’re turning a corner is lying to your face, and the best you can hope for is that they are not doing it knowingly or with malicious intent. Nations either pivot toward repentance or toward more rebellion when they see the writing on the wall, and I’m not seeing sackcloth and ash being out of stock anywhere.

Although some of you may kick yourself for asking for it, I plan to get back to a regular writing schedule and share my thoughts with you, that is, until I get branded some sort of undesirable or another and get de-platformed.

Foreshocks

I’ve never been a fan of crime documentaries. They just don’t appeal to me. To be honest, I’ve always found commentary on disasters, car wrecks, or gruesome crimes to be ghoulish at best. It’s one thing to slow down and rubber neck for a split second when you’re passing a car wrapped around a pole, it’s quite another to do a play by play of how someone’s tibia is poking out of their skin while your buddy is filming you for posterity, or in the hops of going viral.

This is the path we’ve chosen, this is the road we walk, and any commentary on the matter would be superfluous. There are plenty of others out among the interwebs who are chomping at the bit to say something about something just for the sake of saying it, but I’m not one of them.

Just remember, all that follows could have been averted had we humbled ourselves as a nation, and sought repentance. No, I’m not trying to rub salt in the wound, I’m just trying to remind anyone flirting with bitterness towards God that it’s not God’s fault. What follows is a direct consequence of our actions as a nation. We chose this! Life and death, good and evil were placed before us, and as a nation we made a choice. We knew the consequences, because the Bible spells it out clearly enough that even a dullard could understand the broad strokes of it all.

The only worthwhile advice I have to give is to steel yourself, or as the Old Testament is fond of saying, gird up your loins. What we are seeing both in this nation and throughout the world are just the foreshocks before the foreshocks that will herald the true shaking. If this is all it takes to rattle us, if this is all it takes to start talking about bowls and seals and the end being a breath away, it just proves that we haven’t done our due diligence, and do not as yet realize how bad it’s going to get on this spinning rock.

I wish it were not so. I have daughters I want to see grow up and start families of their own, but I know that by the time they come into adulthood this world will be a very different place than what it is today, just as today’s world is very different than what it was a few years ago.

What few are accounting for is the increase in velocity as we continue the downward spiral. We’re not descending at the same rate we were when the spiral started. With each revolution we speed up just a little more, because that is the natural order of things, and no amount of wishful thinking will change it.

Stay calm and carry on, knowing that you are safe under the shadow of His wing! That is perhaps the best piece of advice you will receive this week, perhaps even this year. I know, not bombastic, not exciting, I’m not sending you out in your backyard to dig a hole, or to buy a one-way ticket to the Amazon, but sometimes the best advice is common sense.

There is no escaping what’s coming upon the earth. There is nowhere you can go; there’s no hole deep enough you can dig, so just breathe, fellowship with God, be rooted in the Word, and trust that He’s got the whole world in His hands. If it is so, that includes you too!

With love in Christ,

Dented Saints

Something just isn’t right. I know you feel it, I feel it too, most folks do if they’re honest about it, but it’s better to keep your head down, bite your tongue, and watch from the sidelines how this thing is going to play out. We wouldn’t want to inadvertently use an acronym, do some basic math, or point to FBI statistics because, you know, that’s racist now. Oops, FBI is an acronym, well, there goes that.

What strikes me as grotesque to the point of feeling physical nausea is how readily the vast majority can ignore events they would have a legitimate grievance over and how completely they embrace twisted narratives if they happen to further a particular agenda. The names that ought to be on everyone’s lips aren’t, while the names of dented saints with blackened halos and broken wings are whispered in reverence.

A three-year-old boy died in Miami Saturday after someone opened fire at a birthday party, but no one will know his name. Sure, his immediate family might, but his name will never be stenciled on streets in large enough fonts as to be seen from space. The same goes for the seven-year-old girl in Chicago whose life was snuffed out by a stray bullet, as well as the little boy who was just sitting on his parents’ porch when he met his fate.

This was just from this past weekend. These were just the stories that tore at my heart. There were four fatal shootings and thirty-two wounded in Chicago alone, so it’s not like misery is in short supply. But rather than confront the real issue, we obfuscate, bloviate, sidestep, and find straw men because the truth, if we were to face it head-on, would hurt.

Before anyone gets the wrong idea, no, I’m not talking about the guns. The state of Illinois has some of the most stringed gun control legislation in the nation, and still, week after week, the bodies keep stacking up like cordwood. It’s happening everywhere, in every city, big and small, and the reason isn’t anything more complicated than godlessness. Yes, I know, it’s always about God with us Bible bangers, but if the hollow heart fits, well, then, murder she wrote and then some.

Let me break this down in shorthand because I hear the kids coming down the stairs. If your philosophical baseline and foundational belief are that the Son of God died to redeem you, that He laid His life down that you might have life, not only do you have higher self-worth, you see greater value in the lives of others around you.

When you assign a higher value to human life, both yours and everyone else’s, you’re less likely to try and snuff said life out. The son of God paid the ultimate price for you. Therefore, even if others don’t see value in you, He does. Because He saw potential, because He saw worth, because He made a priceless investment in you, you strive to live up to that which He saw in you.

I’ve done enough research into those who were ultimately caught and charged for the murder of others to conclude that, generally speaking, they were not regular churchgoers. I have yet to run across the description of a shooter that included, ‘he was a regular attendee of the Sovereign Grace Southern Baptist Missionary Alliance Church.’

So, yes, at the risk of sounding like a Bible banger, it is a godlessness issue, a spiritual problem, and one that stricter laws, more handouts, more police, less police, or no police will not remedy. It is, however, a problem that can be rectified with prayer, intercession, proper parenting, and, yes, more of God in everyday life.

With love in Christ,

Michael Boldea Jr.

Takeaways

It’s been said for so long that it’s become a cliché of sorts: if you don’t learn anything from your mistakes, you are bound to repeat them. The funny thing is that it’s true. It really is. The problem, however, arises when learning from your mistakes demands that you, as an individual, acknowledge you made one.

Because so many today are self-absorbed to the point of narcissism, they would rather bang their head against the same wall every day all day than admit to anyone, especially to themselves, that they made a mistake. In a time when everyone is lying to you about everything, self-awareness is priceless. That shortness of breath and tightening of the chest you experienced taking the three steps from the mobility scooter to your car in the Walmart parking lot isn’t body positivity. You’re too fat, and you’re about to have a heart attack! That hissy fit you threw in the coffee shop because your half-caff soy latte was missing the foam wasn’t you standing up for your civil rights; you were just being a shrew.

By far, one of the biggest mistakes most people made in the recent past is that they didn’t believe people at their word no matter how crazy what they said sounded. While the power-mad railed on about what they would do if by some miracle they took control, most people sat on their couches, shrugged their shoulders, looked at their spouse, and said, “well, that’s just crazy, that’ll never happen. This horse-toothed jackass is talking about outlawing burgers, cars, and private property. The other turban-wearing one is talking about defunding the police, making Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico a state, and opening up the borders. I don’t think that’s what they really mean.”

Well, guess what, buttercup? That’s precisely what they meant and then some. Now it’s too late to put the crazy back in the bottle, and what’s more, they’ve been emboldened to take their crazy to new heights. Don’t get me wrong, their puppet in chief is no slouch either. While they’ve been able to brush off criticism of his mental decline thus far, we’re headed for some choppy international waters, and if we’re not careful, we’ll find ourselves in a hot war with a nuclear power in no time flat.

I know, I know, the situation is under control. We are, after all, talking about the legend who stood up to Corn Pop steering the ship and making life and death decisions in the blink of an eye. It’s only his name, where he is, and what he’s supposed to be doing that he forgets on the regular. That life and death stuff, he’s sharp as a dull butter knife when it comes to that.

To say that we find ourselves in a mess is the understatement of the century. For the most part, we find ourselves here because we didn’t believe people when they told us exactly what they planned to do if they got the power to do it. Mayhap we can try not to repeat that particular mistake.

Maybe I’m just an old fuddy-duddy, but between glowing in the dark and having to spit roast my neighbor’s cat for sustenance and a few mean tweets, I’d take the mean tweets every day and twice on Sunday.

With love in Christ,

Michael Boldea Jr.

Foresight

Even if I were to triple up on the kid gloves, this would still sting. It’s not that I’m trying to be purposefully hurtful or mean-spirited, but rather, the situation demands it. I’m past hoping to shock people into wakefulness because if the past year and change haven’t done that, neither will my words.

If there is one mistake I made over the past year, I overestimated the average American’s intelligence level. I know, see, already stings, but if you’re honest with yourself about most of the people you run across daily, you’ll realize I’m right. The next time you’re driving about, just for fun, look at the other drivers, alone in their cars, and how many of them are wearing masks. That’ll tell you everything you need to know.

I heard it said somewhere that fat, dumb, and lazy is no way to go through life, but seemingly, most of this nation has set out to prove this saying wrong. It’s not like they’ll succeed, but they sure will give it the old college try, even though all they ever did in college was get drunk, get high, and well, you know, the other thing.

My job, at least the way I figure it, hasn’t been to tell you that there’s a curve ahead, but rather to tell you what’s waiting beyond the hill, a few miles down the road. I don’t know; perhaps I should have warned of the curves too, because by all accounts, even though we’re all seeing the turn, we’re white-knuckling the steering wheel, hitting the gas, and closing our eyes. Just because we refuse to acknowledge the road’s curve doesn’t mean it’s not there, nor does it mean that we won’t run off the road and crash if we don’t make the turn.

If there is a silver lining in all this, it’s that I no longer have to refer to most things in the future tense. The road isn’t going to get bumpy; it already is, but if you think this is as bad as it gets, you’re in for a rude awakening. I know, I know, rapture’s almost here, so it’s no business of ours, but maybe hold off on packing those bags and saying your goodbyes just yet. On the off chance that the writers of a fictional series got it wrong, maybe don’t make everyone you know think you’ve lost your mind because you gave your cat away and went on the highest peak you could find, waiting to be caught up.

So what awaits us beyond the hill if we do make the curve? Suppose we survive health experts trying to pump our toddlers full of hormone blockers, our homeland security bussing illegal migrants to all four corners, our elected officials guaranteeing hyperinflation, and our media stoking hatred with bated breath; what can we expect after all that?

Not to be an alarmist or anything, but if we were to look back in our history, we would realize that we’ve just created the perfect environment for a strongman to appear on the scene. When you have to strap on tactical gear just to go to the grocery store, when you are marginalized, scapegoated, robbed in broad daylight by thugs and politicians alike, when chaos is the order of the day, and you’ve been made into a shut-in by people who roam free, a strongman is a welcome respite.

Before you bristle, before you say that could never happen, just look back and see all the things that have happened even though you said they couldn’t. Just like God, the sun, the moon, and the stars, some things exist whether you believe in them or not.

With love in Christ,

Just Like Jesus!

You know something has gone horribly awry if you have to double-check to see if something you’ve read online wasn’t put out by the Onion. Sometimes people say stupid things in gest, and I tend to give them a pass for the most part. I’m not some hyper-sensitive boob looking to feign outrage and accuse someone of the worst sort of atrocity even though I know what they said was not intended in the way it was interpreted.

We used to extend people grace. We used to give people the benefit of the doubt. We used to allow for foibles, imperfections, flubs, slips of the tongue, and other such things, but no more. Selective outrage and unquestioning subservience have become our new drugs of choice. Like any cult, if you reject, denounce, or otherwise refuse to join the clique, well, then you should just be dispensed with. If not outright killed, then put in a deep dark hole and fed tofu and soy for the rest of your life.

Maybe it’s the testosterone making you so disagreeable to the idea of Communism. Perhaps it’s misplaced machismo, or masculinity, making you question the ever-changing science, but they have ways of dealing with that too. They’ll just put you in a dress, pump you full of estrogen, and play videos of people asking why you want to kill grandma with your selfishness on an endless loop. You’ll be moisturizing, wearing a face diaper, and singing the praises of Socialism in no time flat.

On a serious note, however, I received the same message from three different people yesterday, and I actually had to do a bit of digging to make sure it was not satire. I needed to make sure it wasn’t someone trying to pull a prank.

To be fair, just so we understand the context, I found it a wee bit cringe when Christians would go on and on about Donald Trump being King Cyrus reborn. If you are unaware of who King Cyrus was, he was an ancient king used by God as an instrument, although not a worshipper of the one true God. There was no talk of him being a saint, no talk of him being divine, just a type and shadow of a long-ago individual who did good despite himself.

Fast forward to the year 2021, and we have the following nugget from someone on Twitter: “Jesus fell three times carrying the Cross while on the way to Calvary to save us. Biden also fell three times carrying the hardship America is going through on his way to deliver Hope. Today God looked upon Biden and said, ‘this is my Son, the beloved, in whom I am well pleased.’”

I’ll just let that marinate for a minute, like a fart in an elevator. The Beth Moores of the world were all aflutter, up in arms, and beside themselves, because Donald Trump was compared to a godless king of the ancient world, but are perfectly fine with a man whose most profound thought of late was why does the pudding in his diaper have chunks being compared with Jesus!

So, to clarify, no, Joe Biden is not like Jesus; in fact, far from it. Joe Biden is a corrupt, addled, aging, power-drunk septuagenarian, perfectly fine with partial-birth abortion, late-term abortion, in fact, abortion of any kind, among other things. I’m confident that on the list of what Jesus would do, supporting the murder of the innocent is not among them.

I could go on because the list is long, but what would be the point? We must all now sleep in the bed that a man who can’t make it up a flight of stairs has made, and even at the risk of angering some of you, we deserve nothing less.

Not A Dream

If you've felt like the world has turned upside down and inside out, you are not alone. It's not a dream, it's not a nightmare, it's not an Ambien-induced episode, and there's no waking up from it. Unlike the cat ladies on Facebook who insist on posting the "hang in there memes," I'm honest enough with you to tell you how it is. Not how I hoped it would be, or what the best-case scenario will look like if a thousand things happen in sequential order, akin to winning the lottery thirty times in a row, but how it is.

This is where we are! We are at a point where more and more it seems that the governing class is daring God to judge this nation, almost thumbing their noses at Him. At this juncture, can any intellectually honest person say we are undeserving of judgment? Can any intellectually honest person say that the steps we've taken over the past couple of months are in harmony with the Gospel or bring honor to God? Maybe Beth Moore, but she's far from intellectually honest. I'll just leave it there because I don't want to make this a rant about Beth Moore.

I've never been a big fan of just saying something for the sake of saying it. I don't have to put out content to appease my Patreon members, nor am I interested in clickbait to somehow stroke my ego at the thought of how many eyes perused what I've written.

For the most part, truth be known, I write for posterity because continuing to yell at the top of my lungs to bar the stable door even though the horse has already bolted is wasted breath at best. Sure, some realized there is a cottage industry in feeding people morsels of false hope, but I'd rather you know the truth and prepare your heart for what is to come.

The sad reality is that we are beyond the point of peaceful redress. We are witnessing the current administration do nothing more odious than keeping their word, and for every so-called spiritual leader, pastor, teacher, evangelist, or angst peddler feigning outrage, too little, too late.

Because the other side isn't interested in dialogue, diplomacy, coming together, crossing the aisle, or some other such pabulum, they're all gas no break when it comes to destroying this nation. Because no boogeymen existed, they've had to conjure them, and in the process, have broad-brushed half of this nation's citizens as being bloodthirsty savages.

They're hoping calling people Nazis will keep enough of them quiet for long enough so they can ensure permanent control. What they have not as yet realized is that at some point, those they've demonized will become what they've been accused of being for the simple reason that they will have no other choice. When you vilify law-abiding citizens, deify criminals, strip a nation of its freedoms, give preferential treatment to illegals, and call your tax base selfish for wanting to keep more of what they earn, you have all the necessary components for combustibility.

At some point, you can't not trust your lying eyes anymore. At some point, even the most indifferent among us will have to acknowledge the horrors these caricatures have wrought upon this nation. At some point, fathers will look upon their sons and daughters' faces and realize their futures have been squandered. They will also acknowledge that if those who have grown rich by selling out their countrymen have their way, they will be subjects rather than citizens in short order. At some point, they will mourn the death of their nation, the loss of their freedom, the raping of their dignity, the destruction of their families, the perversion of their morality, the rejection of their God, and that sense of loss will turn to anger, then rage. When that sentiment reaches critical mass, no amount of gated compounds, barbed wire, or free money will hold back the tide.

What is coming is inevitable. It always has been. I was just hoping we'd get a little more time.

With love in Christ,
