Since some of you seem to be enjoying these teachings, I will continue to post them on the blog, at least until this teaching series is concluded. We will get back to the prayer series shortly, but for now I pray you are edified, encouraged, challenged, and strengthened by these short teachings.
Maybe people are just scared of real love. They think all their relationships have to be by some sort of rules. If someone is just accepting of another, people feel shocked and even offended, as if it is not meeting a standard.
Christ said that a Christian is known by the love he has for other Christians. If the Christians are always hateful and competing with each other, what does that show the world but that there is no cohesion in the body and nothing to see there.
Many who call themselves Christians are so intolerant that they are worse than even the oustisders. Christ said there is no greater love than this, that a man would lay down his life for his friends. I think that means that you should be willing to sacrifice for the rest of the body of believers, and this is about the most important thing you can do once you are saved. All of the law follows from loving your neighbor as youself.
Love means accepting what you don't like as well as what you do like. People don't seem to get that. They think Christianity is a clique of conformity.
