In any war of words, the side that establishes and determines
the narrative usually has the upper hand. I say usually even though I mean
always, because I don’t want you getting disillusioned within the span of the
first sentence of this essay.
If you get to dictate the narrative, you can paint the other
side as something they are not, and have that picture of them cemented in the
minds of many a soul even before they get a chance to counter your assertions,
or prove the fallacy of your argument.
When someone gets to define the narrative, it is akin to not
only choosing the time and place of a battle, but choosing what sort of weapons
will be used, as well as getting to call dibs on the optimum terrain. Ask any tactician
worth their salt and they will tell you that having the high ground in a battle
goes a long way to insuring your victory.
Even so, knowing this to be factually and demonstrably true,
we allow the godless to claim the high ground time and again, and as such continue
to be bruised and battered by their slings and arrows, which given an ounce of
investigation or introspection prove to be lies and half-truths at best.
We have seen this done to Christians over and over again, and
rather than learn from the past, we allow it to continue. What’s worse, we’ve
stopped defending our positions, we’ve stopped pointing out the cognitive dissonance
of the godless, and like a too oft beaten dog, we curl up in a ball and take
the bludgeoning anew.
Because they know their entire premise is built upon a
foundation of lies, every time someone who does not fit their narrative rises
in prominence, they become rabid in their desire to destroy them, their
reputation, their livelihood, their families, and their lives in general.
One of the longest running narratives regarding Christians is
that we are all knuckle dragging Neanderthals who couldn’t multiply single
digits if our lives depended on it, and whose only useful function in society
due to our diminished intelligence quotient is to dig ditches or shovel manure.
Before anyone gets angry, no, there’s nothing wrong with
digging ditches or shoveling manure, but the godless have relegated the whole
of Christendom to these two career choices, insisting that no rational human
being, no person who has the intellectual fortitude to aspire to more than
menial labors would ever believe in God.
As such, anytime a prominent neurosurgeon, scientist,
biologist, chemist, attorney, or philosopher confirms their belief in the God
of the Bible, they are systematically ridiculed, belittled, mocked, and
derided.
Why such vitriol? Because such individuals do not fit their
narrative, and anyone that disrupts their constant barrage of anti-Christian
sentiment must be cut off at the pass.
So what’s the point of this little rant? Well, simply to
encourage you to stop being the doormat of the godless, and defend the truth whenever
the opportunity arises. Stop allowing the heathen to establish the narrative,
and use the truth to defend against their lies.
One thing you will soon discover is that the godless are
cowards. Not only are they cowards, they are hypocritical cowards, who attack
those they have determined will not fight back or defend themselves.
Why is there no mockery of Muslims and Islam by the so-called
free thinkers of our day? Why are the utterly silent regarding even something
as laughable as Scientology? Because they know that there will be pushback, and
even the Scientologists will defend themselves against lies.
Not so for Christians. We are too busy stabbing at each other
and decreeing who will get to pass through the gates of heaven and who won’t to
see that we are being isolated and branded as something we are not.
One of the most despicable human beings to ever walk the
planet penned a pamphlet regarding affecting change in society, and among the
many things he wrote, he also surmised that ridicule is man’s most potent
weapon.
The church is being ridiculed into irrelevancy, and our
silence at this juncture is utterly criminal. It may be difficult at first, but
as a child of God who stands on a foundation of truth you must find your voice,
and call out the liars who lie about you, your life, your intent, and your
faith. Do it forcefully, vociferously, and consistently, and you will see how
quickly they will retreat back into their dens of iniquity and hedonism.
