Anything But An Elephant!

Political correctness has made us fools. It has robbed us of reason and logic, making it almost criminal to speak truth, or call a thing by its proper name. Our refusal to properly identify something or someone is a seemingly daily occurrence, and every time anyone has the temerity to actually call a duck a duck, they are lambasted and labeled insensitive for daring to point out what everyone else is pretending they do not see.

In today’s society an elephant can be anything except for an elephant. It can be an obese zebra, a giraffe with a birth defect, a hippopotamus with an identity issue, but whatever we decide it is it cannot be an elephant.

As such, a Muslim extremist cannot be a Muslim extremist. Either he is a disenfranchised youth who was so appalled by the new dollar menu at his local fast food trough he just went nuts, or a young man who was spurned by love and decided to go out like the coward he was, or he was abused as a child, or touched by an uncle on Halloween when he was a teenager. Call him anything but what he really was, and try to explain away his actions by any means other than religious zealotry.

The reason everyone is so eager to call it something other than what it is, is because the whole notion of moral equivalency gets annihilated when you realize that one of these things is not like the other.

Grandma Doris won’t be trying to shoot up an army recruitment office after the potluck at the Foursquare Baptist Church, and uncle Bob isn’t planning on blowing himself up to get his seventy virgins after this week’s pancake prayer breakfast.

There is no moral equivalency here, yet this is what is being pushed over and over again. I’m sorry, but the crusades took place almost a thousand years ago. People are getting beheaded by Muslim extremists today. How is that the same? How are the two even in the same solar system?

We can go into the whole reason the crusades happened in the first place, and for those of you that have swallowed revisionist history it wasn’t because the Christians wanted to take over the world, it was to stem the timed of Muslim aggression, but that’s beside the point altogether.

What is of great import is that we start calling an elephant an elephant, and stop trying to find other justifications for what just happened and what will unfortunately happen over and over again, than that which  is painfully obvious from the jump.

We are where we are as a society because we refuse to call things by their proper name, and coddle that which we should be rejecting. Yes, abortion is murder! Yes, sin is terminal! Yes, religious zealots are actively seeking to murder innocent people thinking they are doing God a favor!

Unless we come to terms with reality, unless we lay aside the notion of political correctness and speak the truth unabashedly, our silence and obfuscation will be our own undoing.

Deeper Truths

In order to control a people you must first do away with hope, followed closely by doing away with its history and rewriting it to your own liking. If someone knows where they come from, the history of their ancestry, what their forefathers accomplished, where they failed, and how they persevered, there is a connection, and there is an identity in something other than the system and the powers that be.

Anyone who hopes to mold and reshape a people to their own nefarious ends cannot build upon the foundation of the past but rather tear it down, bulldoze it, pave over it, and start anew with a construct and design of their own choosing.

You can’t get someone to hate who they are by insisting their forefathers did some bad things but also a lot of good. You have to convince them they were vile, evil men and women whose only desire was the subjugation of their fellow man; individuals who walked around with bloodlust in their eyes looking for their next hapless victim.

If you can eradicate someone’s past, you can shape their present and dictate their future. Cast enough doubt on any one person’s history and ancestry, cast enough doubt on any one nation’s acts and actions, and eventually you can talk someone into doubting absolutely everything.

If a certain thing I held dear turned out not to be true, what else isn’t true about me, my family, my ancestry, or my nation?

What is currently happening in America is psychological warfare at its most brutal. The sheep have already been culled, and so it’s easy to brainwash them, bombard them with misinformation, and steer them toward a particular set of responses whenever and wherever you have need of a large group of useful idiots.

Thinking for oneself has become taboo practice in America, and God help you if you refuse to fall in line and bleat along with the rest of the sheep. You are free to speak your mind as long as your mind is the hive mind, as long as you parrot what they themselves have parroted on down the line, without ever taking a step back and seeing the idiocy you are regurgitating for what it is.

There is a deeper, more nefarious purpose to systematically dismantling this nation’s history and it has nothing to do with what is being trumpeted as the cause of the displeasure.

By now we should be used to smokescreens and sleight of hand but it would seem our predisposition to give the powers that be the benefit of the doubt still plays into whether or not we have our eyes open to the reality of all that is taking place around us.

With so many spinning plates, and so many eager to take a sledgehammer to our kneecaps while we’re attempting to spin said plates, it’s only a matter of time. It’s not as though we didn’t know these days were coming. Nevertheless, it is a strange feeling to be living them.

Sodom and Then Some

Now that the horse is out of the barn and proudly prancing in some parade or another many a Christian has seen fit to take to the internet and decry the ease with which thousands of years of precedent, Biblical council, and human reason were dispatched in order to facilitate the whims of a handful of deviant individuals.

As one would expect, the comparisons with Sodom have been plentiful, and I have yet to read an article on the topic that was able to keep itself from quoting the now infamous, ‘if God doesn’t soon bring judgment upon America, He’ll have to go back and apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah!’, widely attributed to Billy Graham, but whose actual originator was his wife Ruth.

I realize the following may be a shock to the system, but we’ve got Sodom and Gomorrah beat by more than a nose, or to use racing parlance, by more than a lap.

Cringe worthy as it may sound, we have surpassed both Sodom and Gomorrah in dark deeds for one specific yet undeniable reason: not only have we embraced sin wholesale, we have set upon exporting it to the world, and putting pressure on lesser countries to embrace the selfsame sin!

Sodom’s sins were contained to Sodom. Sodom did not have ambassadors offering financial incentives, immigrant visa packages, and interest free loans if only the nation in question would validate perversion and call it normal.

Sodom’s sins were its own, and there was a noticeable delineation between the men of Sodom, and the one righteous man also inhabiting the city. The Sodomites just wanted the men who came to visit Lot. They didn’t demand Lot deny his God, or bake them a cake to celebrate their depravity.

We have supposedly Christian denominations telling their parishioners things which are antithetical to Scripture, demanding they toe the line and stick to the prescribed talking points, all in a mad rush to be seen as tolerant of sin rather than obedient of God.

We are, by far, worse than Sodom because we have made countless little ones to stumble by removing repentance from our lexicon of oft repeated words. We have grieved the heart of God not in ignorance but with the full knowledge of what His Word says.

We have abandoned truth, and once more betrayed the Lord for far less than thirty pieces of silver, while the hirelings continue to repeat the lies they’ve contrived in order to continue living lives of duplicity and hypocrisy, wholly devoid of righteousness or sanctification.

We are, by far, worse than Sodom because we chose to trample upon the blood of the only begotten Son of God as though it were some worthless thing, all in the name of a perverted definition of love. We have turned our backs to true love – a love the men of Sodom were never privy to – and embraced a counterfeit all the while celebrating our depravity.

So the next time you hear someone comparing America to Sodom, realize we’ve surpassed them in many ways, and by the time the tale is told and the final nail is hammered into the coffin of what was once America, we will have surpassed them in every way.

Matthew 18:6-7, “But whoever causes one of these little ones who believes in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to the man by whom the offense comes!”

Because I Said So!

Just because someone says something it doesn’t make it true. Just because someone affirms a thing, it does not mean that what they have affirmed is factually provable. What it means is that they said it, and that’s it.

I am a marathon runner. I am astronaut. I am a robot sent from the future to make sure robots are not invented. See? I can say, or at least type anything I want, but it doesn’t make it true.

I am not a marathon runner, nor am I an astronaut, or a robot for that matter. Simply because I affirmed these things didn’t magically make them factual.

If I tried to run a marathon I’d likely die of a heart attack, I have vertigo so being an astronaut’s a bust as well, and as far as being a robot from the future is concerned, we will leave science fiction to the science fiction writers.

Lately I’ve been getting a lot of articles forwarded to me by believers asking my opinion, and the crux of each of these articles was that some individual or another was affirming that they were Christians and practicing homosexuals.

As I said in the beginning, just because someone says something it doesn’t make it true.

You can be a practicing homosexual, or you can be a Christian. You cannot be both simultaneously. No matter how many hissy fits men and women throw, no matter how much they stomp their feet and hold their breath and ball their fists, it will not change the factuality of this reality.

You either love your sin more than you love God, or you love God more than you love your sin. The choice must be made by every individual as to whom or what they will choose, as well as the path they will follow.

This goes for every habitual sin, it goes for every sin that men are tethered to and yes, each of these separate men from God and put up a wall.

While we’re at it, unless I missed something along the way the entire notion of homosexuality is about being sexually attracted to the same sex. Since when is lust or sexual attraction love? Have we become that jaded that we can no longer differentiate between the two? Have we become so lost in our own perversity that we can no longer distinguish between lust and love?

Perhaps the most egregious consequence of this entire drama is that we take the blood of Christ, and the fact that He hung upon a cross for the sins of mankind, and make it null. We’ve done away with the notion of ‘go and sin no more’ and even have the temerity to say sin isn’t sin simply because we’ve decided it isn’t.

I’ve said this often enough but it bears repeating, if there were any other way for man to be reconciled unto God than through the shed blood of Christ, God would have employed that way. Sin is death, and the unrepentant man is dead in his sin until through repentance Christ breathes life into him and he is regenerated.

How much do you have to hate someone not to tell them about repentance and the consequences of refusing to turn from one’s sinful ways? How much do you have to hate someone to withhold the truth of Scripture from them attempting to placate them, and tell them they can use the carpool lane to heaven with their sin in tow? Yet, rather than being seen for what they are, such individuals are called tolerant, understanding, loving, and all-embracing, while those who in love cry aloud ‘repent’ are deemed hateful and bigoted.

Simple Questions

If your church cannot distinguish between the light and the darkness why are you still calling it your church?

If your pastor never mentions the name Jesus why are you still calling him your pastor?

If your denomination mocks and rejects the reality of the Holy Spirit why are you still calling it your denomination?

There comes a point when we become complicit. There comes a point wherein we cross the line from observer to participant. There comes a point wherein our inaction makes us just as guilty as those with blood on their hands, just as guilty as those who insist upon a Jesus not of Scripture but of their own making.

These are the thoughts which weighed heavy on my heart this morning, and I decided to share them. Brace yourselves dear souls, brace yourselves. The storm is here!
