What of the True Gospel?

There are many gospels to choose from. Blink, turn your head, cough into your hand, or get distracted for more than a millisecond and another gospel pops up, seemingly out of nowhere, and the easily beguiled flock to it as swiftly as they did to the previous one.

To be honest, I’ve gotten so sick of what’s been happening in Christendom of late, I’ve been ‘off the grid’ as the kids like to say, just me, my Bible, my wife, and time to think about where the church is headed if something is not done about the destination we’re barreling toward.

Up until a couple days ago the gospel du jour had to do with blue moons or red moons or blood moons or some hyper spiritualized thing someone borrowed from some long lost pagan mystics while they were still dancing around fires in loincloths.

I don’t even know who came up with it, I just know I got allot of e-mails warning me that the moon would bring with it much global chaos, more than likely sparking the third world war, and I should, forthwith and without delay, get to my safety pod.

Everyday it’s something, and in the dustup Jesus gets left behind. We lose sight of Him, and eventually forget to remember Him altogether.

There are many gospels making the rounds today. There is the do nothing gospel, there is the big tent gospel, there is the magic genie gospel, and as I watch them come and go, and oscillate in popularity I keep asking myself what of the true Gospel?

Will the true Gospel ever have center stage again? Will the true Gospel ever be received and embraced again, or are we watching the last flailing spasms of a dying thing once known as the church?

I’m struggling here. I’m struggling to understand how so many can be so blind, indifferent, deceived, and callous while still claiming to be of Christ, and insisting upon fidelity to His standard. I’m struggling with how so few see the wolves for what they are, and treat the true shepherds with a disdain formerly reserved for torturers and sadists.

We are on the edge of profound, cataclysmic change, and if this is the best the church can muster, if this is the level of watchfulness and alertness we can bring ourselves to given everything that’s been happening in the world, the slaughter will be unprecedented.

With love in Christ,
Michael Boldea Jr.

Brother Michael, I understand your frustration. I feel it, too. The church seems to chase after everything EXCEPT a deeper relationship with Jesus. I do have to ask, though -- what do you think Jesus meant in Luke 21:25 when He said: "There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea." If Jesus Himself warns us of signs in the sky, what kind of signs are we supposed to be looking for? This passage has always puzzled me and so I have to admit when I heard about the four blood moons lining up with 4 Jewish holidays I did sit up and pay attention. Jesus tells us that we can get a sense of His return, based on what is happening around us. Luke 21:31 "Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that the kingdom of God is near." Why would He tell us that if we weren't to anticipate and keep and eye out? And why mention the sun, moon, and stars? It just seems to cause considerable confusion and encourage Christians to have an almost astrology like interest in the sky, which is dangerous. If you could shine any light on this passage in Luke 21, I would greatly appreciate it. (Of course, I would also understand if you are sick and tired of the whole discussion and prefer to spend your time on more profitable things. :)

Whoever detracts from what is written, well, it is not good. The signs (in the heavens and the earth) were given for a reason just as dreams, visions and prophecy. God's words never come back void but accomplish what they were sent forth to do. The true church is fine because it is God who upholds them: He is the author and finisher of their faith. The worldly wise lukewarm and cold; not so much. Men had better be careful where they stand because only the righteous (not their children) will stand.

One should be careful not to malign what one doesn't understand. For the same reason that I respect the Spirit that moved your grandfather's teachings, I respect the same Spirit that moved Mark Biltz to discover these tetrads. Even when I explained the facts behind the tetrads in Cresco Iowa last year, you rolled your eyes. Why should others not roll their eyes over your grandfather's words? You diminish yourself when you chastise what you don't care to understand.

If I had any tears left, I’d weep all the time now. Is this my spirit feeling Christ’s grief? It seems to be a common condition among the Remnant. And yet, in spite of the resolve that this will not be stopped nor delayed now, there is still a joy to be had, the immense peace knowing that God has this, and if He be for us, who can be against us?

God knows sometimes the sagging heart needs reassuring and shoring up.

So exactly right in all you've said Bro. Mike. Cling to the WORD and the truth revealed to us through Scripture. Continue enduring, fighting the good fight. I believe we are in the home stretch of "the race".

He is forever faithful to His children. All the praise and glory belong to Him. In Jesus' mighty name.

Maybe we see the Gospel as the police. When we are doing things we know we shouldn't we make excuses or justify our sin. Then when something happens we say where were you when I needed you .
So instead of reading our one many Bibles that we hardly open. We come up with a new gospel one that is exactly what we want God to be in the moment we are in. The we have a bad day and we need a new gospel,l one that fits in our new moment. Then we get bored and we need a fresh new approach because who would really lay down there life for me because I wouldn't do it .
Well sorry to say Jesus was born of virgin he did walk this earth a perfect man, he did die our death on the our cross, rose again on the third day sits at the right hand of the Father who sends us the Holy Spirit to comfort us and bring to remembrance the things we have been taught.
So I am overjoyed this Easter morning that Jesus calls me friend.

Ephesians 5:11. Keep preaching the truth Mike. I will pray for you this week as you come to Hillside Assembly in Gillett, WI.
I'll have to introduce myself to you this coming weekend April 27th.

I believe that many that belong to the "true" church are no longer within church walls. There are many of us, disenchanted and sickened by modern Christianity, who just stay at home, with our loved ones and our beloved Bibles by our side. I believe this number will continue to grow, and what will be left behind will those who have ears desiring to be tickled and wallets desiring to be fattened. They do not care or discern they are being taught by wolves. However, I am not totally discouraged because I know the Body of Christ is not a building...it is the group of believers, like ourselves, who are sticking to what we believe and are walking out when erroneous teachings are presented.

To a sister in Washington:

What the scriptures speak of concerning a blood moon coincides with a darkened sun. These tetrad blood moons do NOT associate with this. People are running to and fro whipping up sensation about these events and they have nothing to do with what the word says. Granted they are signs in the Heavens, they are not associated with the return of Messiah. We should recognize potential but not be overwhelmed with them. People embellish, write about, make videos and movies and though some might mean well, contribute to the wearing down of the saints that they might be caught unawares in the actual days where it matters. We need to be vigilant against the machinations of the devil and his manipulations of scripture and current events. It's not scripturally unreasonable to ignore what enthralls modern Christianity for the multitude of their distractions, and focus on building our spiritual lives in ways that please God. Agape to you and yours.

Revelation 19:10 & Hebrews 1:1&2
The end of all prophesy should always lead us back to the Cross and a Christ centered gospel. He must increase and I must decrease. Colossians 1:18 “Jesus Christ had PREEMINENCE". I believe this is the beginning of the great falling away the Bible speaks of.When Christ returns will He find faith (faithfullness) on the earth? We must know and understand the New Covenant (of His Blood)

I appreciate your heart for the gospel of Jesus Christ and your ministry. While I am not sure what I think about the blood moons, solar eclipses and how it ties into what Jesus said about the moon turned to blood, I do believe that the church needs to expend itself on repentance, preaching the gospel, fasting, prayer and helping our persecuted and struggling brothers and sisters in Christ. I have found more people are concerned with sensationalism, legalism and hiding in fear than in doing the things that will really make a difference in the world.

The things that really make a difference are not easy: They are being selfless, loving when we want to be angry and hold bitterness, sacrificing and not wasting our money so we can support our suffering brothers and sisters, sharing the gospel at the cost of persecution, fasting (even though it makes us hungry) and seeking God in prayer (even though it doesn't include electronics or social media or sports.) I understand what you are saying, I believe.

Aren't we supposed to work while it is still day? We don't know how much more time we have on this earth, and I must say that I am guilty myself of not living like tomorrow may be my last day to share the gospel. God is speaking. Thank you for your faithfulness to his work.
